E-mail to TEXT - direct delivery

I've just signed up to use Rogers.com E-mail to text with the direct delivery option. OK, yes you can get TEXT email to your phone without paying but you have to send a 'Read' message to get the actual message--annoying.

The service costs $5/mth and eliminates the need to send back 'Read'. It's definitely a marketing ploy to get people to pay, but it's a whole lot cheaper than paying for a full data plan ($25/mth). I think I was able to adjust my wireless essentials plan so that my total monthly payment stays the same. Next month's bill tell for sure since even the support person didn't know.

For more info see Rogers. BTW, I was not able to sign up at the web site but had to phone Rogers support.
